Hi,
My abdomen distends a lot and when it does my face does the same,
around my cheeks, mouth and under my chin. When my abdomen isnt
distended neither is my face. If the distention is half as bad around
the abdomen its half as bad around the face! I can actually feel the
bloating die down in my abdomen and feel it do exactly the same thing
at the same time in my face. My question is what could be causing the
bloating in my face and abdomen to be linked like this? It's not
painful and has been going on for years so I dont think its serious;
its just very uncomfortable. Also, the bloating can be seen, its not
subjective.

Have you spoke with a Dr. about this before?
Do you have any medical conditions?
What is your sex and age?
How often does this happen?
Is it triggered by food, PMS, stress?

Any details you can provide us about your history and medical history
would help us to answer this question.

Hi,
I should clarify, I'm 31 and male. My doctors says the abdominal
distention is Ibs. She had no idea about the link between my face and
belly though which is why I'm trawling the web!

 Thanks!

Edema (fluid retention) can cause bloating of both the face and the abdomen.

Could it be from alcohol?
