If you die, its not going to matter that you saved $100 or $200 is it? Take my advice and see if SwissAir flies to Russia from Canada. |

My wife is Russian and flies from the US to Russia on Aeroflot all the time. While the service isn't up to western standards, I believe they are (about) as safe as anyone. J. |

i googled "aeroflot safety record" to quickly refute jh963's claim, and after looking thru the top 3 or 4 results, lo and behold, it appears he is correct. for international flights, aeroflot is basically as safe as any other. the problem, evidently, is they use ancient russian-built planes for domestic flights, and those are what crash all the time. the boeing and airbus planes they use for transoceanic flights haven't had a fatal crash since 1995. i stand corrected. the google results do echo his comments about service, tho. i'd read them before making reservations. -cab |
