I upgraded a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p from Ubuntu Dapper to Edgy, and since then, Nautilus crashes at boot-time. I tried reinstalling Gnome and Nautilus from apt-get, but it still crashes, Running "sudo nautilus" from the CLI generates these errors: $ sudo nautilus Password: (nautilus:14672): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_file_get_contents: assertion `filename != NULL' failed ** (nautilus:14672): WARNING **: Unable to load ui file nautilus-navigation-window-ui.xml (nautilus:14672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_ui_manager_add_ui_from_string: assertion `buffer != NULL' failed (nautilus:14672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_table_attach: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (child)' failed I need to get Nautilus running again! |

Hi, thanks for the question. When you reinstalled Gnome and Nautilus, have you removed the configuration files as well? You can use two commands to do that: "sudo apt-get remove --purge ABC" or "sudo aptitude purge ABC" (without the quotes). After that reinstall them Nautilus and Gnome: "sudo apt-get install ABC" or "sudo aptitude install ABC" Maybe that will help. Source: http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing.html ---- LMCS |
