Looking for something with no, or few, kids, outdoor bars/restaurants
with diverse, great, inexpensive food, good beach, lots of activities
and, most importantly, no all-inclusive madness - we like to feel that
we actually left the US:). Playa Del Carmen in Mexico to me is the
perfect place, but we already went there last year, so want to try a
different place but along the same lines - as opposed to the
high-rise, recreating america type madness in Cancun. Cant find a
thing that is similar - or even close - to Playa though ??? any
suggestions ?

Have you considered Sayulita?

The West side of Puerto Rico runs the gamut from American enclave
(Rincon) to very local (Combate and Boqueron). Hit La Parguera for the
best US diving outside of Hawaii.

Forget the beach - Go to Africa. Laugh, play, interact with the people
without reservations for a while - have a peek into 'simple living',
it's relaxing! There is also the beach, if it's a must.
