I'm in the process of preparing to teach a course on financial
information systems and I am looking for audio material that I can use
to prepare. There is a ton of written material on the Web and I've
been going through that at a very steady pace but sometimes I get to
the point where I just can't read anymore and would love to sit back
and listen to some material for a change of pace. Here are the
formats I'm looking for:

-Any type of a webcast (e.g. a seminar that was given where the
powerpoint slides and real audio would be available on the Net)
-Any type of web audio presentation (e.g. ditto without the visuals)
-Any audiobooks or audio CDs

The subjects that I am looking for are as follows:

-Online banking/brokerages
-Electronic Money
-Electronic Bill Payment
-Electronic Financial Markets (e.g. ECNs)
-Financial Services Companies Infrastructure
-Online Investment Tools and Technologies
-Digital Providers of Data (Bloomberg, Bridge, Reuters, etc.)

Or anything that is somehow related to the above topics. I've tracked
down a couple of resources but haven't been able to find much audio
material so anything that anyone could find would be greatly
appreciated!

Will a specialist search engine for streaming audio and video files be
an acceptable answer? The advanced search at Singing Fish allows you
to select financial files. I searched for "infrastructure" and there
were 211 results.

That works for me. This singingfish website will help me with
locating other audio and video presentations as well. Are there any
other search enginges that you are aware of that allow you to search
audio and video files like this one does?

I did look around the site a little more and although there looks to
be some good stuff there, I wish the search engine were a little more
advanced. In order to find what I'm looking for I really need to do
some AND searches and there didn't appear to be a way to do that
through SingingFish. If I'm missing something or if there might be a
similar search engine with a better search capability, let me know
that as well. Thanks!

Hi again,

I'm glad you like the content available at Singing Fish. As one writer
puts it:

"Singing Fish is the 'Google' of streaming video search databases.
http://218.42.147.241/videolink/1/link.htm

Most people haven't heard of it. I only came across it by accident
when I was looking for some MP3s.

It is possible to use search operators - it understands the plus and
minus symbols, for include or exclude, and double quotes to denote a
phrase. Examples from their site:

+Elvis
Includes only results that contain the word Elvis in their
description.

Elvis -Costello
Returns matches that contain Elvis, but NOT Costello.

"Elvis Presley"
Returns items that contain the phrase Elvis Presley.

+Elvis Presley -"Elvis Costello"
Results must include the word Elvis, are boosted if they also contain
Presley, and exclude the phrase Elvis Costello.

There are some other multimedia search engines, but they aren't as
good - there is no way of sorting the results into categories, and the
audio searches are focussed on music:

AlltheWeb
http://www.alltheweb.com/advanced?c=vid&cs=utf-8&l=any

AltaVista
http://au.altavista.com/video/default?&qbmode=

Walhello
http://www.walhello.com/mp3/

There are also a few which search streaming media, but they focus on
radio, such as:

AudioFind
