I have a regular car (Chrysler Pacifica - though the car make/model
isn't really relevant to this question) and I want to customize it
more than the average garage can handle but less than what they do on
TV (e.g., Overhaulin', Rides and MTV's Pimp my Ride).

The kind of work I want to do to the car includes:
-some body work, e.g., custom paint color and trim, some fiberglass
body shaping + maybe custom rims, tailpipe and head-/tailights
-most important is the amount of interior styling I want done, incl
custom upholstery throughout (need to create it from my own fabric
pattern) and trim on seats, custom flooring inserts, various hidden
compartments for storage inside the car and in the trunk, some
customization of the dashboard (color, trim and dials)
-integated audio/visual (iPod, DVD, etc.), GPS navigation and
hands-free phone (microphone and audio output)
-no engine work required!

I'm looking for garages, preferably in California or in nearby states,
which could handle all of the work for me. It would be best if they
did a lot of the work themselves but outsourcing the A/V, for example,
would also be fine. The difficulty in doing this research myself is
that I'm tending to find only hot rod builders online and although
these guys could easily understand my concept, I wonder if they
wouldn't be as interested in the project once they hear that I don't
need any 'supersizing' of my engine done!

If the only answer is to use a hot rod builder, then I would prefer it
was an up-and-coming shop or designer and not one that's already
reached fame and fortune on TV!
