There's a guitar pedal company, ArielFX, that makes a retro pedal that
uses this specific transistor, and they make a point of noting that the
majority of these transistors are leaky and low quality, and that what
makes their product different is hand-selected OC76 transistors:

I also have a friend in the guitar pedal business. I emailed him, and
he noted:
"We don't use Germanium Transistors at all for this reason. There are
several competitors of ours that do use them.
These transistors are also difficult to get in large quantities on a
regular basis."
So you might try contacting ArielFX to see if they'll be willing to
share their source, however it seems unlikely. The fact that they
hand pick them also suggests that their supplier is no better than
most at providing higher quality, and they must go through them with
a fine-tooth comb, so to speak, and discard or recycle those that are
unsuitable.
Let me know where this takes you...
