i recently got verizon wireless broadband, it uses my cell phone as a
modem. i need it to stay connected all the time. When i plug in my
ethernet cable which connects me to a LAN internet connection, windows
xp disconnects my dial up connections within 20 seconds. It seems that
windows thinks the dial up connection is no longer needed, but i
actually need them both connected at the same time. I have already
configured my advanced dial up setting to not "disconnect when no
longer needed"

Howdy tresin-ga,

Perhaps you have already done this, but could you please try the following?

- Go to Start, Control Panel, Internet Properties, and then Connections

Make sure "Always dial my default connection" is checked on and your dial up
connection is set as the default.

Please report back here is you have it already checked, or if this has taken
care of the problem. Thanks!

Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher
