Question ID: 781236
Are there any good freeware programs that allow me to map/mount into
Windows drives:

1. ftp directories
2. scp directories

Currently I use FileZilla and WinSCP to see and work with this
information, but would prefer that the directories and files appear as
if they were Windows directories and files.

Hello kent_m,

Have you tried browsing to the FTP sites in IE by typing

ftp://websiteaddress.com

This should then display the contents as though you are looking at a
windows directory. Try IE7, too, available from

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx?mg_ID=10010

Let me know how this works for you answer-wise.

About using IE:

Actually, I started my browsing experience that way, then progressed
to FileZilla and WinSCP that provided a nicer interface. But even
they lack the nice feel of having the directories appear as a
mounted/mapped file system. That way, when I am opening or saving a
file from any program, I can go directly to the mapped drive and
traverse down to the desired file (that is actually on an ftp server).
