Can you find the amount of revenue that womens tennis generates
compared to mens tennis. Specifically i am interested in tournament
and tv license money. I suspect that the mens game generates a lot
more revenue from these sources and hence the players should get a
larger share of prize money from the tournaments

Why would men generate more money? I think a lot of people from way
back would rather watch women play. Take for instance, Martina,
Billie Jean and Chris Everet

Several years ago - before the teen female players were noted for sex
appeal - I read that the men did indeed earn more than the women from
all sources. The article pointed out that the men's matches lasted
longer - obviously so, when playing three winning sets. This gave
their matches more medium time, resulting in more TV ad spots, longer
viewing of advertisements on the court, and more shots of whatever
sponsored clothing they were wearing. (I remember a commentator
remarking about someone's retying a shoe as being done for the shoe
sponsor.)
