My pal Peter, who lives in Belgium, has a computer problem and is
frustrated by a lack of service options in the Belge.

He has an HP Pavilion ZD7265 for which he paid some £1,500 about 2
years ago. Now the screen has stopped working.

He is going to bring this with him when he visits me on Nov 20, as I
have got a local dealer who will have a look at it for him with a view
to repair.

However, his enquiries have led him to believe that getting HP parts
could be a problem. We shall see.

In the meantime, he has asked:

1: What is the current value of his current model (assuming it's been repaired)?

2: What would be a recommended equivalent (or better) that I could buy
for him here in the UK - which must have a worldwide warranty?

(The UK has VAT at a rate of 17.5% which must be taken into account.)

I realise that there are not many GARs in the UK but I am sure that
there are lots of folk around the world who've got good and bad vibes
that they would be prepared to share.

For what it's worth (not a lot) I've got an HP Compaq NX9010 (an older
model) that is still OK.

Many thanks

Bryan
