GPS on-board systems (tomtom, garmin...) are very useful for car
navigation, especially for finding hotels, restaurants, food services,
service station...
Unfortunately, the Point of Interest (POI) Databases provided by
Navteq (or Teleatlas, Zenrin...) have a very poor quality (missing
POI, out-of-date data...).
To solve this problem, GPS users have the possibility to upload, onto
their GPS, POI file that they have gathered on the web.
What are, in US and Europe, the solutions to add POI data into a GPS, I mean:
- POI download center website (egg http://poiplace.oabsoftware.nl/)
- off-Board real-time services (egg parking real time information)
I would like to have the more complete list than possible, whatever GPS brand I use. |
