I have a Dell 2300mp projector. How and where can I get parts for it
to get it running again. It cost me over $1,100 new and it seems no
one wants to or can fix it. A radio, CD player, TV, etc that cost only
a few hundreds of dollars can be fixed and an projector that costs
multiples more CAN'T?

Howdy John,

I've located the place that does "out of warranty" repair of these projectors.

Even though they mention "Parts" in their "phone tree" they are not authorized
to sell Dell parts.

Would you accept the contact information for the company that does the repair
work? Thanks!

Howdy John,

Here is the fee structure of the company I have found.

"Out of warranty pre-payment fee is $130.00 (includes $85.00 for estimate fee
which will go towards labor fee if you decide to get the unit fixed & $45.00
for overnight return S&H). Our turn around time for repair estimate is between
24 ? 48 hours. If you decide not to get the unit fixed, you will only be billed
for $130.00 per unit.

If you decide to get the unit fixed, the minimum charges are $145.00 ($100.00
for labor + $45.00 for return shipping) + Parts per unit. Our repair turn
around time is between 2 ? 3 business days & maybe longer in case of part
shortage. Estimation fee will not be charged."

Thanks for accepting this as the answer to your question, John.

Technical Service Corporation, which appears to be owned by Optoma, which makes
projectors as well, does the repair of out-of-warranty Dell branded projectors,
including the 2300MP. Here is the contact information for Technical Service
Corporation.

Technical Service Corporation
Toll Free: (888) 942-2929
Direct: (408) 435-3957
Fax: (408) 383-3711
725 Sycamore Dr
Milpitas CA 95035

Call them and they will email you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) form
and the instructions you will need to send the projector in for repair.

For whatever it is worth, the 2300MP is made by Taiwan based Coretronic, at
least according to this file on the Dell website.
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/acc/2300MP/en/regs.htm

Here is the contact information for Coretronic, which includes their projector
representative. Perhaps they can point you to a source for parts.

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
