I'm stuck at the point where I have to get past the Soggoth in the
refinery.  I can't seem to slip past it down the stairs.  None of the
FAQs or walkthroughs I've found explain how to do this.  This is for
the PC version of the game NOT the xbox.  A proper answer to the
question will allow me to proceed with the game and not get killed.

Please try this and report back here on the success or failure this produces.

Try hiding (behind the crates seems to be a good place) and the Shoggoth's arm
should eventually go away.  Then run!

Hi Denco!  That worked like a charm.  Funny that I thought I tried
every which-way (at least 30 times) and would always get beaten down
by that stupid thing.  Thanks alot!

To get past the Shoggoth in the Marsh Refinery in "Call of Cthulhu," hide
(behind the crates seems to be a good place) and the Shoggoth's arm should
eventually go away.  Then run!
