Ok, I saw a film when I was a child, and I (having been vouched for by
family, that it is a real film, and not some strang delusion) Am
seeking the name of the film.
The film is about some inventors, in a strange world, that are under
rule of a deranged emporor, one invention is exra arms that plug into
ears, and allow the empror to play the piano at a far greater speed.
One inventor discovers they are infact, in a dream world, of a middle
aged man. They construct a dream gate type device, which allows them
to enter the real world, and carry the man into his own dream, where
he is paraded round the city in utter silence. The film finishes when
the dream suddenly becomes flamingo's.
This film does sound like a bad acid flashback, but I assure you it
does exist. the only quote I can fully remember is several babies
chanting 'flick the switch' over and over, and an anouncer that says
something along the lines of 'and suddenly, everything was
flamingo's!'
PLEASE help me find this film, its driving myself and everyone who
remembers it, totally nuts.
Thank you.

Sanity shall be yours, Steve, for you, and everyone else, saw the animated
short named "Rarg." Here is the official page for the animation from
Collingwood O'Hare Entertainment.
http://www.collingwoodohare.com/rarg/rarg_index.html

"Until one day, an astonishing discovery is made. The Rargians discover that
they are just a dream. They are being dreamt by a man called Edwin Barnes, who
is in imminent danger of being woken up by his alarm clock. And so the
adventure begins."

More can be found on the Toonhound website.
http://www.toonhound.com/rarg.htm

"It's difficult to write too much about the film without spoiling things.
Suffice it to say, the Rargians concoct a daring plan to save themselves. The
execution of this Great Plan, the Rargians in big pink jumpsuits with matching
earmuffs and pillows on their feet, the Intelli-babies, Nigel Hawthorne's
golden narration, it all works wonderfully. Oh, and then there's a delightful
twist in the tale that will leave a big pink smile on your face..."

The Toonhound site also has a "Q&A" with the animator, Tony Collingwood.
http://www.toonhound.com/beards.htm

"I'd written the story ["Rarg"] when I was at Art College. It was going to be
my first year project at Film School - but ended up consuming my entire time
there and beyond!"

Even though it appears it might have been released on VHS at one point, it
also appears to be impossible to find a copy.

Foothill Entertainment is doing broadcast distribution for "Rarg," so perhaps
a very polite email to them might provide a network or channel that is going
to show it.
http://www.foothillentertainment.com/programming_child.html

"Rarg is a wondrous fantasy world where the population thrives on making
exciting new discoveries and everyone is happy."

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.

Search strategy:

I had seen "Rarg" several time myself, so I was bound to find the title for
you. I did several variations of "flamingos" and "dreams," etc. until I
remembered a sequence in the animation of the characters wearing pillows on
their feet. This lead to ...

Google search on: "pillows on their feet" animation

Google search on: Rarg
