Why do some unanswered questions stay open for Comments for 6 months or more ... While mine always 'expire' for questions and comments after 30 days or so? See: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=726857 Do the GARs have a special button they can press to extend their favourites or to curtail the bad guys? Or am I just being paranoic? Poor Sleepless of Hove, I thought we had been through this before. Questions remain open for comments for 12 months (or maybe 12 x 30 days), unless the questioner expires the question, as you regularly do yours, it seems. Questions are open to an Answer for 30 days to the hour and minute, however, once an answer has been posted, it remains open for clarifications for more than a year, as demonstrated by Hummer-ga's answer to the question about hummingbirds: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=511127 I seem to remember that when posting a question, one had the option of setting the expiry date, 30 days being the default period, but either I am wrong about this or the system has changed - at least an incompleted trial posting of a question didn't seem to offer this now. Cheers, Myo |

By the way Bryan, England just got absolutley demolished in their first cricket match against Australia. This was England versus an Australian 11 selected by the prime minister. Incidentally willyou be out for the Ashes series. Today's prediction is for a world record test attendance record including nearly 100,000 for Day One of the "Boxing Day test" at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. JOHN FROM MELBOURNE |

Hi John No ... I won't be going to the Land of Oz, not to see England get murdered yet again. Now, if there was some decent beer or crocodiles or surf anywhere around or even a decent Opera House in Sydney ... I might reconsider ... Provided that you will cover all my costs (First Class). All the Best Bryan |

Just what's happening? I trotted over to that spooky UFO question *just* now and left a comment. Sublime had *just* been there too. I left the lights on *just* in case anyone else strolled by, too. Ahh, cricket. Not my cup of tea. Too many text messages on my mobile phone for my liking. Some spin bowlers *just* won't take no for an answer! |

I never saw question #161982 or I would have added my own requests for who should play me in the movie. So I add my thoughts here: Of course, since no one is as good looking or funny as I am, I should play me. Since I am not trained in the arts, I will pick actors who could fill my shoes (and pants). Dead: John Candy (We love you and miss you John) Chris Farley (a little on the short side, 7 inches or so but it would be an honor) Living: John Goodman Ralphie May (big boy is gonna need to slim down some for the role and grow a beard but I think he can get it done) Ricky Gervais (he'd need a bit of padding and a real beard) |
