Looking for the title of science fiction movie maybe from the early
1970's featuring small aliens inside what looked like a large salt
shaker (5 ft tall). I remember their voices sounded electronic like
the device a person holds up to their throat when they've lost their
vocal cords. Maybe they lived in a large underground cavern but I
don't want to mislead you.

Could this be 'Dr Who' - a UK TV series dating from 1963 - featuring the Daleks.

The Daleks were as you describe.
