Hi there!

I am a crafter, and I have my usual haunts online, but I would love a
big list of websites for crafters.  More specifically, I would like:

  -  Websites where members collaborate on projects - knitting,
crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, cross-stitching, jewelry making,
etc.  I want to find projects and then complete them with others
online.

  -  If you can't find communities for some crafts, I would like a
list of the main sites in these major crafting niches: knitting,
crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, cross-stitching, jewelry making,
etc.

I am most interested in *communities* built around crafting -
interaction, sharing projects, tips, etc - not just informational
resources.

So did you find any sites that were based on collaborating of
projects?  I know some forums have sections for
knitalongs/sewalongs/etc., but did you find any sites where people did
projects that wasn't inside a standard forum format?  (I hope that
makes sense - I just don't really like how forums are set up - it's
hard to find things in 50 pages of posts for one project!)

Please take note that researchers can only answer based on your
original question. And in that question it wasn't taken into account
the need for a non-standard forum format. Anyway, I still tried to
look for the things that you prefer.

If what I asked in the clarification is what you are looking for in
your additional question, it seems that there isn't much of it. I only
found two links that seem to be close to what you want.
