I am attempting to locate an image and information on a painting based on the following description. I became aware of this painting through a blank card that I believe was purchased in the UK in 2002. To an untrained eye it, I believed it was similiar in style to a Winslow Homer painting specifically The Gulf Stream and Breezing Up but these are not the painting I am looking for. In the painting small sailboat is sailing away from the viewer with large swells. The sailor is wearing a white hat and there may be one other person in the boat. If sailing directly away from the viewer is considered 12 oclock and sailing left-to-right on the canvas is 3:00, the boat would be travelling in the direction of approximately 1:15, presenting the stern and right (starboard) side of the boat. This painting has strong sentimental value to me and I can not find it online. Correct answer will be a link to a web page with an image of the painting and info on the painter. Thanks! |
