Dear shellyiro,

that is not possible. German law requires the bank to check your
identity, so you must show up in person at the bank and present proof
of identity and residency to open any kind of bank account with a
German bank.

Interestingly, an English friend of mine long resident in Mexico
recently wanted to open a bank account in England and I found two UK
banks that could do the biz, provided he opened an offshore account
with their Isle of Man branch. (The Isle of Man is NOT in the UK even
though you might think it is.)

However, in each case he had to prove his identity with a branch of
the bank in Mexico which was no prob.

So, maybe, you could open an offshore account somewhere?

However, be warned that - here in the UK - offshore accounts do not
carry the same levels of protection as the onshore variety.

Just a thought!
