Some people using IE7 see an address bar with the URL at the top of popup windows - for example when playing a Java game at Pogo.Com. For other people using IE7, the URL text overwrites what would normally be in the window title. On all 8 of my computers it has the former, but many dozens of my customers experience the latter. I can't make my programs work properly unless I can get IE7 to show the URL in the title bar. How do I get the version of IE7 that shows the URL in the title bar of Java popups at Pogo.Com? I have two screenshots illustrating the difference I will be happy to email to you. Here are two other places on the net where people are trying to get essentially the same question answered: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=884108&SiteID=1 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgQ1MEz7pdDOTZgb2kWp.anzy6IX?qid=20061114200040AAAMT0T | |

Hello rigel222, Thank you for your question. Try using the "<title> your title here </title>" tags in your HTML pages. This should solve the problem. The problem is not with your version of IE7, although IE7 does have its problems. I advise you use Mozilla Firefox instead-- it is a much more reliable and safe browser and a more enjoyable browsing experience. If there is not <TITLE> tag, then it shows the URL by default. Take out the <TITLE> tag. |
