Who was the father of John Peters, born 1799 (plus or minus one year)
in Westcott, Dorking, Surrey, England.

I already know the names and ages of individuals called Peters living
in Westcott in 1841. It is possible to guess about John's origins from
these names but I want information that is more reliable than that.

Dear markwpeters-ga,

None for Westcott, but I have identified three possible matches for
1799 and they are at Horley and Merstham. Do the 1851 and 1861 census
confirm his place of birth? Have you a marriage date? What was his
wife?s first and maiden name? Do his children?s p.o.b. supply any
other locations?

I can give you the details of these baptisms if that answer your
question, and links to archives where you should pursue you enquiry as
you re now asking for records few of which are available on the
internet.

As you may know, the online records start in 1837.

Maybe a visit to the church in Westcott would be helpful?
