Well, it depends on where you were.  Sky is in Europe, so it was
likely Dire Straits "Money for Nothing," which includes Sting starting
and ending the sond with "I want my MTV".

In the U.S., MTV's first video was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by
The Buggles and that was followed by Pat Benatar's "You Better Run".

On MTV Latina, the first video was "We Are South American Rockers" by
the Chilean band Los Prisioneros.  On MTV Brasil it was "Garota de
Ipanema" by Marina Lima.

I am pretty sure it was Buggles.  They released Video Killed the Radio Star.
