Hi, I have a customer coming from Israel and wants to go to China
(Guangdong area). He will visit Taiwan beforehand.

He needs a very fast way to apply for a China Visa.

I am a HK people, and I know he can come & apply for visa in HK, but
it costs 1 day, which is unfortunately too long. Also, he does not
plan to visit HK

Does anyone know any faster way to apply for a visa? I see the
following opportunities:
1. He will stay in Taiwan a couple of days before he goes to China.
Maybe he can apply for a China Visa in Taiwan?
2. Maybe he can apply for a "instant visa" when he is at the China border?

Pls kindly tell me the way, and the contact phone number so that I can
confirm your answer. Thanks.

Eric

Hello granzo,

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, visa processing for foreigners in Taiwan was shut down
in 2000 for fear that members of Falun Gong would try to enter China
that way. Those who do not have Chinese visas ahead of time will have
to go to Hong Kong.

If your Israeli client cannot spare one extra day to go to Hong Kong,
he will have to get his visa in Israel before going to China. There
is a convenient process to get a visa in Israel the same day of the
application by paying an extra fee of 150 shekels. Even not paying
any type of expedited fee, the visa can be acquired four working days
after the application is submitted.

Here is the visa application form:
http://www.chinaembassy.org.il/eng/qzhz/P020060601723026091476.pdf

Here are the rates for Chinese visas in Israel:
http://www.chinaembassy.org.il/eng/qzhz/t243904.htm

As you can see, by paying 150 shekels more, the application can be
picked up from the embassy the same day it is submitted. By paying
100 more shekels, the Chinese visa can be picked up in two or three
working days after the application is submitted.

For a Chinese business visa, the sponsoring organization or business
in China must provide the Israeli who wishes to travel with a letter
of invitation.

Business Visa Guidelines:
http://www.chinaembassy.org.il/eng/qzhz/t159790.htm

If your friend wishes to get a same-day business visa, he must show
his airline ticket showing a flight for that day or the next day to
China. If the person does not want to or cannot visit the Chinese
embassy beforehand to apply for the visa in time, for a business visa
he can designate a travel agency or another person to show up to the
embassy with the required documents and get the visa for him. The
embassy accepts cash, money order or bank check.

If this cannot be done for some reason, a visa can be obtained in Hong
Kong the very same day it is applied for through "Fast Process."

Monday to Friday during normal business hours, go to this office:

Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The PRC.

5th Floor, Lower Block,

26 Harbor Road,

Wanchai,

Hong Kong.

Tel: ++852-25851657 OR ++852-25851680 OR ++852-25851794

For more of a fee, you could go to a Hong Kong travel agency which
could also obtain the visa, possibly faster than the main agency.

Hi
It is impossible to apply a China'a Visa from Taiwan. The best way for
your friend is to apply China's visa in Israel before he starts
her/his trip.
