A few issues ago (this year, definately) there was a tactical/swat
style watch featured in one of these magazines.

The watch was available in stainless or a matte-black metal finish.

If I recall, the manufacturer is new to watches, but I believe has
been making precision instruments for some time.

Hi Dave,

Is this the watch you are looking for?

If this is not the watch you are thinking of, could you provide any
additional information to help in this search. Thanks.

Looking forward to hearing your views.

Best regards,
Rainbow

Sorry, no, that's not it. The watch in question is more of a
tactical/swat style.

It's definately not an Ikepod.

Was it one of the Chase-Durer watches?

<a href="http://www.chase-durer.com/watches/sfaat_brc.html">href="http://www.chase-durer.com/watches/sfaat_brc.html</a>

Or maybe a Luminox?

Officine Panerai used to make precision instruments before they
started to make watches in 1940s so that is also a possibility:
