Hello again Mongolia,

"Beasts Of England" is a parody of the famous socialist anthem "The
Internationale". It is sung in George Orwell's novel Animal Farm.

Lyrics

'Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland,
Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken to my joyful tidings
Of the golden future time.
'Soon or late the day is coming,
Tyrant Man shall be o'erthrown,
And the fruitful fields of England
Shall be trod by beasts alone.
'Rings shall vanish from our noses,
And the harness from our back,
Bit and spur shall rust forever,
Cruel whips no more shall crack.
'Riches more than mind can picture,
Wheat and barley, oats and hay,
Clover, beans, and mangel-wurzels
Shall be ours upon that day.
'Bright will shine the fields of England,
Purer shall its waters be,
Sweeter yet shall blow its breezes
On the day that sets us free.
'For that day we all must labour,
Though we die before it break;
Cows and horses, geese and turkeys,
All must toil for freedom's sake.
'Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland,
Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken well and spread my tidings
Of the golden future time.'

Are you saying that you want a film clip or an audio version of this
song being sung? Or are you saying that you want a version of the
lyrics to fit more closely to Internationale (as per the second
Wikipedia version)? Or are you looking for the sheet music?

Your questions led me to remince of the time I spent in England, as a
stained glass artist, I am inspired to put the words of orwell on
glass.

... and here is a link to the original lyrics of L'Internationale and
several translations and interpretations. If you're trying to search
for the tune, you might find it one of Billy Bragg's cds.

... and here is a link to heaps and heaps of mp3 downloadable files of
the music, so maybe just take the lyrics that Bobbie provided and turn
up your speakers and start humming along!

Howdy Bobby and Stressed Comrade
I have played the link:

http://www.wellsway.bathnes.sch.uk/video/animalfarm_low.rm

It appears to allude to Orwells "Beasts of England" but is not the
lyrics for the song and certainly not the music for the
internationale.

I am very aware of the link:
http://www.hymn.ru/internationale/index-en.html

which plays numerous examples of the Internationale
(you really want to play Maxx Klaxon and the Estonian version)

Getting back to the original question though if you look at the
Wikipedia article on the Internationale , it refers to the Orwell song
Beasts of England as been a parody on the Internationale. I would have
though there must be a few recordings out there with the lyrics sung
to the music of the Internationale.

Mongolia

PS in going through this question , I appear to be having a
challenging time playing audio links on the PC with all sorts of
different things happening.
Sometimes i cannot play it , sometimes it works straught away ,
sometimes I have to install stuff and sometimes once I start play it ,
I can never stop the damn thing. But I guess that is another question
:-)

Hello again Mongolia,

I have not been able to locate another Beasts of England audio clip.
Shall I ask the editors to remove my answer?

Thank you for your patience,

Sincerely,

Hello Bobbie

Many thanks for getting back to me.

AS yo have put a lot of work into the question here is my compromise.
I will not rate it but leave it as is.
It may well be that no such recording exists (perhaps someone else can
come up with one)

All the best for now.
