Can you clarify what sort of data you're looking for?

General data on population, age distribution, etc are freely available.

Specific marketing type data, such as 'high income, college educated,
25-34 year old males" is harder to come by, and can be quite costly.

Specific mailing-list type data for, eg, the above-mentioned group is
the hardest and most costly of all data types.
