I am looking for the percentage of US cell phone users whose household
income lies in ranges such as:
Under $15,000
$15,000 to $24,999
$25,000 to $34,999
$35,000 to $49,999
$50,000 to $74,999
$75,000 to $99,999
$100,000 to $149,999
$150,000 to $199,999
$200,000 and up
I don't need those exact ranges if you find others, but need at least
4 buckets with 2 below $100K and 2 above $100K.

Brightfae,

I located the percentage of households with cell phones by household
income from 2001 for the following income segments:

Less than $15,000
$15,000-$29,999
$30,000-$49,999
$50,000-$74,999
$75,000 or more

Would this information interest you?

Thanks,
Bobbie7

brightfae-ga,

Thanks for your question.

A recent survey from the Pew Charitable Trust's ever-informative
"Internet & American Life Project" provides a very nice breakdown of
cell phone use and income according to people with both landline and
cell phones, and the small but growing proportion who rely solely on
cell phones, with no landline connection.

The report can be found here:

http://people-press.org/reports/pdf/276.pdf
THE CELL PHONE CHALLENGE TO SURVEY RESEARCH
MAY 15, 2006

and the table on page 30 presents the answer to the survey question:

"Last year, that is in 2005, what was your total family income from
all sources, before taxes?"

The data breaks out as follows:

=====================================================================

Percent of respondents in Income Brackets:

.............................Those with both..................Those with
.........................cell and landline phones............cell phones only

Less than $10,000 ........................5% ....................18%

10 to under $20,000 ......................8..................... 17

20 to under $30,000 ......................9..................... 19

30 to under $40,000 .....................10...................... 8

40 to under $50,000 .....................10..................... 13

50 to under $75,000 .....................19..................... 14

75 to under $100,000 ....................11...................... 4

$100 to under $150,000 ..................11...................... 3

$150,000 or more .........................8...................... 3

Don?t know ..............................10...................... 4

=========================================================================

I trust that's the information you were looking for.

However, if there's anything else you need, just let me know by
