I'm looking for a good automated, incremental backup solution for
XServe/Mac OS X Server, 10.3-10.4, connecting over local area network
to a Raid Array. The ideal solution would back up volumes nightly,
putting changes up and saving old and deleted versions of files for
150 days as a backup and reserve. I would really, really prefer not to
use Retrospect, so please don't use that as a basis for the answer.
GUI is preferred over command line. Command line needs to make certain
that there are no resource or metadata issues (rsync, for example,
works great for unix files but can be problematic for true Mac OS X
files). Free/Open Source/Shareware is better than commercial, but
commercial's not a dealbreaker.
