Question ID: 784399
I'd like to know how I can set up the SPRO-5001 Headset Microphone
(NOT the USB version) with a Dell 700m running Windows XP Pro version
2002. I have no trouble receiving audio, but cannot get the device to
work properly as a microphone. I've exhausted the toggles that I know
how to set in the Windows Control Panel. Please help -- want to get
started doing Skype calls!

The URL for the product is here:

Will definitely pay a tip for a right answer! Thanks!

Howdy jsp311-ga,

I will ask the obvious. Have you exchanged the unit you have for another one
of the same make, or tested the unit you have on another computer or with a
different application other than Skype?

If not, it sounds like you've got a unit that is defective.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've not tried to exchange yet because I
presumed I was missing a step in the install -- moreover, the sound
works OK, so it *seems* that the hardware is probably OK. When I run
the mic diagnostics, I just can't get it to pick up sound. If there's
really nothing else to do I could exchange it.

Thanks.
