I'm seriously thinking of buying myself a DVD Recorder for Christmas
but what sort & what make & model?

I already have a DVD Player (which I might have to ditch but SEE
BELOW); a VHS recorder/player (which I wish to keep); and a Freeview
box with Hard Disk (which I also wish to keep).

I would like the capabilty of recording stuff from existing DVD's (so
I guess that I need to keep my DVD player) and Vids, and also from my
Freeview Hard Disk. PLUS Editing Capability - so that I can record
segments rather than entire content. (My Freeview Hard Disk is already
so endowed.)

Could I hook a new DVD Recorder into my existing kit and achieve all
the required effects - without swapping cables around? And, if so,
how? (They all seems to have 2 SCARTs plus other Input/Output
options.)

Also, I do not understand the DVD Recording Media options, all this +
and - and other stuff. Preferably, I want a fully-featured Recorder
but without any unnecessary gizmos like Freeview and VHS.

I don't have a budget in mind because I know full well that whatever I
buy today will look expensive in a year's time.

Over to you but please remember that this is for the UK and what might
work in the Colonies may be totally unsuitable for me.

Many thanks

Great ... Someone has locked my question ... This is VERY encouraging
... I think .... UNLESS it's the dreaded Googlebot.
