HP 3100 Printer and Stanby Problem ($5.00)
I have attached (parallel) an hp 3100 Laser Jet to an IBM T43 running
xp professional and installed it using the appropriate CD from HP for
XP programs (Version 1.1 Windows XP.).

The computer will not go in standby because "the Printer Port Logical
Interface" device is preventing the machine from entering standby. On
an other ibm computer (X31) which also uses the same printer and xp
pro I disabled in
systems device the Printer Port Logical Interface and I have no
problems going to standby. On the IBM T43 when I go to Device Manager
and systems device, I can not find any mention of a Printer Port
Logical Interface, and therefore can not disable it, and can not
go to standby. The message System Standby Failed suggests that I may
need to update the driver, but I doubt but do not know if this can be done.
Again on the other computer (IBM X31 running XP pro) standby works.
How would you solve this problem?
