Who is credited with saying "The taste of the roast is determined by the handshake of the host."? Some (Leslie Gibbons & Mark Morse)give Ben Franklin credit for this but I cannot find it in his collection of quotes. Please provide verification. |

Like Mark Twain and Dorothy Parker, Ben Franklin is one of those folks to whom a myriad of quotes are falsely attributed. I've found no evidence that Franklin ever said or wrote this. Pithy sayings like this one are often impossible to pin to a certain origin. |
