Q: Places to post 3G and SIP Press Releases ( Answered,   0 Comments )

Subject: Places to post 3G and SIP Press Releases

Question ID: 785036
We are looking for a list of internet sites who post Press Releases about
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)or write about SIP (could be blog
also) and would want to receive press releases. We would like the URL
and the email of the person who wants to receive the press release.
We also want a list for 3G.
We are NOT looking for general PR sites--only sites which focus on 3g or SIP.

This project could involve many hours of "trial and error" research.
For every ten sites examined, perhaps one might ask for press
releases. How many links are you looking for as an acceptable answer,
keeping in mind the time required to weed out acceptable sites?

Of the few sites I have found so far, most require a fee-based
membership. Please let us know your thoughts on this as well.

metrics-ga,

umiat-ga has raised some good points, and it would help to have your
feedback on them.

In addition, it would help to understand why you want this list,
rather than a more conventional approach to distributing press
releases?

Press releases are usually mass-delivered to editors and writers who
work on particular topics. For instance, for a fee of just a few
hundred dollars, it's possible to email press releases to thousands of
technology editors, writers, web sites, radio/TV stations, etc.
Though not all of the recipients will be focused on SIP or 3G, a fair
number will be.

Wouldn't this be preferable to trying to laboriously ferret out the
specific targets for SIP/3G releases?

Let us know if information on these press release distribution
services would suit you as an answer to your question.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga

Sorry for not answering sooner--I expected Google to email me when
someone asked a question but that didn't happen. The sites don't
necessariy have to publish press releases--it they indicate that they
want to receive press releases in order to possibly write about us
that would be fine.

A fee based membership might be ok for some of them but I am wondering
why someone want a fee in order to receive PRs? Can you explain the
reasoning? If the site asks a fee for viewing then that would not be
good.

I would like 10 sites each. We already distribute to technology
writers through a general PR service. We are looking for sites that
may not be on that list and/or sites that may be on other lists but we
can target ourselves.

Let me know if something is not clear and I will answer faster.

metrics-ga,

Thanks for clarifying what you're after. I'm glad you checked back,
as the email notification system is not working at the moment!

The list you asked for is below. I did not separate the sites out
into a 3G and SIP category, since so many of them covered both topics.
I provided emails when they were available, but for many of the
sites, the link given leads directly to a press release submission
page. At a number of sites, it's necessary to register first, but I
did not see any that asked for a fee prior to registering or
submitting a press release.

I trust the information below fully answers your question.

However, please don't rate this answer until you have everything you
need. If you would like any additional information, just post a
Request for Clarification to let me know how I can assist you further,
and I'm at your service.

All the best,

pafalafa-ga

Even though some sites take both 3G and sip I need them to be
catagorized as: Just SIP, just 3G and both. It seems that only one or
two are 3g and no sips. That is a little dissapointing. I was hoping
for more targeted sites. Also, some sites are not appropriate as they
are too broad or too consumer orientated. The worst offenders are:

metrics-ga,

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I've seen your post, and will
continue working your question to expand, categorize, and clean up the
list.

I can't list things that don't exist, though. There really do seem to
be very few sites with a strict focus on either 3G or SIP that also
solicit press releases. I suspect that most of what I can find for
you will cover both technologies.

So...stay tuned, and I'll let you know what turns up.

Oy!

This has turned out to be quite the sticky wicket.

I only found one site for 3G and one for SIP -- all the others are
dual focus, and several of those are fairly broad tech sites.

I've added several new sites to the lists, deleted those that were
overly broad, and put them in categories, as you requested. Please
let me know if there's anything more I can do for you on this.

Cheers,

paf

Ron,

As you may know, Google Answers is closing down soon, and I certainly
don't want one of my last clients going away disappointed. So please
let me know what I can do to make things right.

You wrote:

>>Was a little dissapointed that only a very few sites were SIP or 3g

I hear you, but there just doesn't seem to be many sites with a
specific SIP or 3G forcus that also solicit press releases. If you're
aware of any that I've missed, please let me know.

>>they werent't organize as I requested.<<

I thought they were...URL and email address, when available. But if
you want something different, please, let me know, and I'm at your
service.

All the best,

paf
