Specifically, I need the past 18 months, ending with October 2006
(inclusive).

It should look something like:
April 2004: $xxx
May 2004: $xxx
...
October 2006: $xxx

Please note your sources in the answer.

To confirm that these are the correct figures I added up the 2004
monthly remittance numbers.
The total is 16,612.7 (million dollars)

According to the article Banking across Borders ?In 2004, Mexican
immigrants in the United States sent a record $16.6 billion dollars to
their relatives in Mexico.?

The figures match.

Thank you for the answer. The one item that I would like to request is
the October, 2006 data. Unfortunately, this is a case where the most
recent data is most important to me; I can't make the decision that I
want to make without the data from Oct 2006.

Best Regards,
adsee-ga (what a name, eh?)

Migrant Remittances provides the following expected remittance figure for 2006:

"The Central Bank of Mexico expects migrant remittances to Mexico for
2006 to total almost US$24 billion as the number of Mexicans working
in the United States continues to increase. This exceeds 2005
levels?$20.6 billion?by 20 percent and is more than six times the $3.7
billion in remittances recorded in 1995."

I'll see if I can find something a bit more specific.

A newspaper article dated November 13th gives the most up-to-date
remittance figure as 1,933.0 million for September 2006.

According to my research the October remittance figure has not yet
been published. I did extensive searches in English as well as in
Spanish.

OK. I know that theres nothing you can do about it. I suppose that
knowing the date that the October figure will be available could act
as a substitute.

They did not give me a date; however I will check back everyday and
will let you know when it becomes available.

The Bank of Mexico answered my email and said the October remittance
figures are ususally published between 30 and 35 days after the end of

Therefore the October data will be published between November 30th and
December 5th.

I will be checking everyday for the October data and will let you know
