Pinkie,

I just heard the news that GA will be no longer. I feel most bad for
the reasearchers, especially you. I know you rely on GA financially.

Thank you for all the wonderful answers and comments you have provided
over the years. You are truly a world class researcher. If I had the
need for a full time researcher I wouldn't hesitate to hire you. I've
learned from you in my profession as a librarian.

Thank you also for all the wonderful things you've said about me. I
feel I've come to know you through the years and will miss your funny
puns, poems and photographs.

Perhaps our paths will cross again, if not thanks for the memories.

I wish you the best!

Please answer this question with a poem about the GA community.

I had a dream, though it slipped away,
Of Google Answers, my dear GA.
I dreamed of Bryan and Steph and Bowler
In days gone by, when things were droller.

I dreamed of questions like sugarplums
That tickled our brains for outrageous sums
And a peanut gallery hot & salted,
Sharing a journey that now is halted.

I had a dream, and it didn't stay;
An Archae0pteryx came to play,
Timespacette, Barneca, Nelson too,
Shoaib and Pugwash. Ah, Pink is blue.

Like a joyful swan I have sailed these pages
And now I must say farewell for the ages.
So let this be the song of the swan:
I had a dream, and the dream is gone.

Best wishes to my friends
from

Hey Pink.

Just posting this because I still can.

It feels like I'm waiting for the earth to be destroyed in the movie
"The Day the Earth Stood Still" while the passengers are boarding the
rocket. Or like the guy in the Twillight Zone episode who stays in a
bunker during a nuclear war and emerges as the only person left on
earth with a big pile of books to read, only to smash his eyeglasses.
I know these reference won't be lost on you. In other words I'm just
waiting for the end of the GA world. Although we have been able to
salvage a few people at the Alumni forum.

Thanks, Pink.

It saddens me to say goodbye. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

If you wish to keep in contact I've emailed Bryan for the first time
and he has my email address. I'm not sure if you correspond with him
but feel free to get my email address from him if you want. I
understand the need for privacy also.

Goodbye!

I am truly going to miss GA. I visit everyday and enjoy this little
corner of the Web. It being "little" is probably the thing that will
cause its death.

I've only just heard that GA is to close, via the question above. This
is dreadful. The service is infinitely better than the alternatives. I
will go and sign the petition.
But it will be a sad day when we no longer have access to the advice
of Pinkfreud, Tutuzdad, Crabcakes, Pafalafa and the helpful and lively
comments of Myorarin and Probonopublico (alias Brian). I will even
miss Kemlo.

Pink & Co.:
I can't bear the thought that I won't have the GA community to
"commune" with every day. I will sign the petition, and like others,
want to thank all the researchers who have helped me -- and educated
me -- over these years.

Have you and your colleagues discussed a website or link where contact
info could be listed for people who want to hire you and others for
free-lance projects? if someone's already posted this, I apologize.

If someone hasn't, let's!

Thanks Ace,

You are truly one of the great researchers from whom I have learned a
lot. I have been able to use many of yours and other researchers'
strategies to help me in my profession as a librarian. Of course I
will miss you all.
