I've switched over from Yahoo Mail to Gmail and want to transfer all
my saved emails (several hundred) from Yahoo to Gmail. The transferred
mail MUST retain the original sender and date, so simply forwarding is
unacceptable. The mail is in several folders.
I've tried the method posted at
http://www.hanselman.com/blog/PermaLink.aspx?guid=7ea31dc8-f412-4c7f-9d22-b76b653305be
and got partial success. I was able to download all my saved Yahoo
mail into Eudora. But I have been unable to get the second part of the
method to work. I know a fair amount about Windows software, but
configuring my own SMTP server is beyond my expertise. So the answer
provided has to be quite detailed -- much more so than the answer in
the post I referenced. It should have all steps specified with example
entries. Ideally, you should have actually used the method to verify
that it works.
