Hello, frankhoogland-ga!

I have found a good number of large classified ad sites in Europe. I
did not include specialty classified ads site, like those devoted to
selling niche items like furniture, since I did not believe you wanted
sites with a narrow focus. I also avoided numerous classified sites by
country that had virtually nothing on them!

Instead, I have highlighed the comprehensive classified ad sites that
sell a diverse collection of items from individuals.

"Though the international Craigslist sites are available only in
English for now, the formula seems to be catching on, if more modestly
than in the United States. The London site attracts more than 150,000
unique visitors each month, Mr. Buckmaster said. The Paris site, begun
in November, already draws 50,000 unique visitors monthly. Other
recently added sites, including Amsterdam, Dublin, São Paulo, Brazil,
and Bangalore, India, have drawn slightly less traffic."

FindAlt

Free Classifieds, Denmark-style

You've all heard of Craig's List, which allows most classified ads to
be run for free, and is 25% owned by eBay. And you know about Google
Base, a beta offering from Google that some have termed an "eBay
killer," because it allows sellers to post items for free. Now comes a
new version of classified ads from Denmark, coming from a surprising
source?a leading Danish newspaper publisher. And it's free, too.

FindAlt (Danish for "find everything") debuted today, a completely
free online service for classified ads that already offers almost one
million products and plans to double that number "within days"
according to Carsten Rysgaard, Market Director at Berlingske Digital,
the online arm of Denmark's largest media company. The smallest items
all the way up to used cars and even homes are for sale already.

I have seen your clarification, but I am dismayed that you did not
outline the sites you "already had" when asking this question. This is
very frustrating for a researcher, since an unclear question makes for
double work! Do you understand what I mean?

I searched long and hard for the sites I found, and culled them
according to whether they had significant traffic. There were a few
other classified ad sites, but they had no postings. It will do you no
good to post an ad on a site that has no traffic, will it? Let me know
your thinking.
