I remember reading a children's mystery book in the early 60's about a
boy in Maine who solves a mystery on a mountain that has a den timber
rattlesnakes. One of the main suspects wore boots with the letters KK
imprinted on the boot's soles, an obvious take off of LL Bean, and
this suspect was intent on burning out the den with gasoline.
Information on the title and/or auther would be appreciated.

Do any of these books look familiar?

"The online bibliography reveals that Jane authored juvenile mystery
novels at the rate of exactly one per year from 1955 through 1970.
They were all published by J. B. Lippincott, they all take place in
Maine..."

Looking forward to your clarification.
