Nearly every ISP in the U.S. provides at least one POP3 account by
default. How many ISPs in the U.S. provide an IMAP4 account by
default? Answer must include links to references that are ideally not
older than January 2001.

Have you seen this list?
http://www.imap.org/products/providers.html

There is no date associated with it, so I'm not sure how current it
is.

I found a good article on IMAP here:
http://www.ii.com/internet/messaging/imap/isps/#table

...which mentions and links to serveral different sites, but the one
above is the only service provider link. It mentions "Note that some
providers who list POP on their feature list also support IMAP, but
they don't advertise this fact. I suggest that you email POP providers
that look good to you and ask if they support IMAP.".

I haven't been able to find a different listing than the one above
(thus far). I'll keep looking. Perhaps someone else may have some
better luck.

Yes, I am aware of that list. I'm hoping that someone else has
surveyed the ISPs since I don't have time to contact all 7,000 of
them. :) I'm surprised that none of the market research firms seem to
have any data on this. Thanks.

Would a link to a report available for an add'l fee count?
Well, except I just noticed this expired.
