Hi

Your question title confused me. Do you mean to ask how client server
computing effects local information systems design, or how the WWW in
particular affects it?

Could you calrify please

Willie

Yes, are you looking for an "in general" type of answer or are you
wanting an answer tailored to a specific project?

It sounds to me like maybe you're trying to determine how to setup a
new LAN for a business with products starting to switch over to
services-based (WWW based) application (like Microsoft .NET) instead
of client/server based as they have been traditionally over the last
several years.

Is this correct? If you can provide us with a little more detail as to
what you're needing, I'm sure we can help you out.

Thanks,
PWizard

Trying to find out how the WWW has impacted the decision for local
information processing in their design process.

Are you talking about hardware changes made, such as producing
motherboards with network cards already installed, much like they do
with sound cards and modems, or are you looking for software design
changes such as adding functions which take advantage of the WWW's
existence, much like Quickbooks now has several functions which rely
on Internet connection. ???

The question you are asking is very open ended and it's difficult for
us to read that single sentence and devine what you are looking for
exactly. There is a lot involved. So if you could narrow it down a
little, and tell us what areas you are looking for it would help you
get and answer much faster.
