I am a student attempting to instruct myself.

Since you're not an instructor, my lead seems to be a dead-end. The
publisher has a page of web resources for the book you mention, but
the online Instructor's Manual is hidden behind password-protection.
If you were an Instructor, you could contact the publisher for a
password to that portion.
