I am looking for someone who would know the value of a painting by
gabriel Irinyi of Austria, but lived in New York in the late 1960's
and early 1970's...he was knighted by Austria for his contributions to
the art world...his wife, Gabriella painted portraits...

- subject of the painting (such as seacoast scene, portrait of young girl, etc)
- title of the painting if it has one labeled on the front or back
- type of media (oil, watercolor, etc)

The painting is a 20 x 24 ...meadow with two ladies in hats and long
dresses, church, countryside and mountains in background..signed "I.
Gabriell"...has a beautiful hand carved gold frame that he did
himself....the backside of the canvas has a stamp of the "dealer"
where the canvas may have come from...the words are "viktoria
malleinen"....a schutsmann....also the number '4020' is above the
20x40.....the painting is of oil....has the look of impressionist or
expressionist type of painting...like a Monet but darker colors....not
as hazy...

I found a July 31, 2001 guestbook entry on a website which asks:
"I own an oil painting signed by I. Gabriell. Do you know anything
about this painter?" If you were not the one who posted this message,
you might try contacting the poster to see if they ever found the
answer.
