“Each Sculpture is composed of a blend of fine resins and pure white
alabaster, or alabaster and porcelain powders. When "catalyzed" and
poured into a mold, this resin composition will go through a chemical
reaction creating intense heat and causing the mixture to harden and
expand into every crevasse and detail of the mold. When cooled and
removed from the mold, the result is an exact duplicate of the
original art.”

The following is a short excerpt about the artist Joe Slockbower.
“During the ten years that Joe Slockbower cast all of his finished
work in bronze, he felt something was missing. The bronze was cold and
distant from the colors in nature. He began working with a fellow
artist who developed a beautiful soft finish. However, in order to
accomplish the final coloring, the sculpture had to be cast in an
alabaster resin mixture. The final pieces are hand painted with water
based paint. Joe watched in amazement as his sculptures came to life
with the new process. That was it for him. The coldness of the bronze
became a memory, a thing of the past. The response he has received has
justified his new direction. Many of his limited editions are close to
selling out or are already sold out.”
