Hi poetdove, There are several ways to get a replacement Medicare card. If you go to the Social Security Administration's website area for Medicare they list all of the ways. These include calling the toll-free number (1-800-772-1213), ordering online (link is below), or visiting your local Social Security Administration office. Your social security number is your medicare number. Medicare.gov: Your Medicare Card http://www.medicare.gov/Basics/ymc.asp This page lists the ways to replace a medicare card and has links to other areas of information about the Medicare system. I found this site by doing a Google search for "medicare replacement card". librariankt |

Please note that your social security number is NOT your medicare number. In many people, the MC number is their social followed by an alphanumeric sufix(111-55-9999D), but the suffix is important. Also, in rare cases the social and medicare # have no resemblence whatsoever. |
