gary7841,
Did you try to import your old ServMaster data into the Windows
version using the methods I described? Let us know.
It is likely that the Windows version has the ability to Import
ServMaster files from older versions of the program. Start your new
Servmaster software, and try pulling down the "File" menu to see if
there is an "Import" option. If not, try the "Open" option, "Browse",
and find your old data files, then double-click on them. If that
doesn't work, try pulling down the "Help" menu, then "Search" or
"Index", type in "Import" to see if the program will give you some
clues.
Thanks!

gary7841,
I have a couple of ideas for you to try:
1) What happens when you pull down "information" and select "show data
location"? Does it allow you to specify a path name here? If so, try
pasting in the pathname of your existing data file.
2) If you are running on a Windows operating system:
On the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen,
right mouse-click and select "Explore". In the window that comes up,
on the left-hand side, find c: and double-click that. That should
bring up a list of Files and Folders located on the c: drive. Find
"winsm" and double-click on that. Then see whether there is a file or
folder with the word "data" in it, and try to find the actual name of
the default file your new program is using (for instance,
"C:\programfiles\winsm\data.sms",
"C:\programfiles\winsm\data\data.srm", etc. If you find it,
right-click on it, select "Rename", and rename it to "data.xxx" (where
.xxx is the same suffix it already has). Then find your existing file,
move it to your "C:\programfiles\winsm\", and change its name to the
data file name you found in your "C:\programfiles\winsm\" folder.
If you are not using Windows operating system, we need to know your
operating system.
Try these and let me know if you have any luck.

gary7841,
I just wanted to check and see if you were able to import your
existing data file successfully into your new version of the program.
Just let me know -- if not, we can work on this some more!
