Met a man the other day who claimed to have been the backup
quarterback to the Dallas Cowboys in 1982. He also stated he had been
at University of Missouri prior to that. I cannot remember where he
said he had gone after Dallas Cowboys. Seattle or something like that.
Basically I am looking for the name of the backup quarterback in
Dallas for the periods 1981-1983....just to be safe. He said his name
was Dan or Danny so searching comes up with Danny White and I cannot
get to the backup names.
This should not go against Google policy as I am not asking how to get
ahold of him but who was this person in 1982.

According to Total Football II, the official record of the NFL, the
Cowboys' backup quarterbacks in 1981, 1982 and 1983 were Glenn Carano,
who went to UNLV, and Gary Hogeboom, who went to Central Michigan. It
is always possible the person you met was on the taxi squad or was on
the team in the preseason.

Seattle quarterbacks in 1984 were Jim Zorn and Dave Krieg, neither of
whom went to a major football college. The backup for the Seahawks in
1985 was Gale Gilbert (Cal).

No quarterback named Dan or Danny from Missouri ever played in the NFL
(as of 1998). No quarterback named Dan or Danny has led Missouri in
passing since 1947 (1).

I hope this answers your question. If not, please request
clarification.
