Hi June1974-ga,

I just need to ask a few q's if you dont mind.

1. What anti virus software are you using?
2. What o/s are you using?
3. Is your PC on a network?

W32/Opaserv.worm hides in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
"ScrSvr" = %WinDir%\ScrSvr.exe 

You must delete this reference from your windows registry and delete
the infected file in DOS mode. The anti-virus software can take care
of the rest and clean your whole pc of this worm.

You will also need to take the pc off the network (if it is on a
network) as this worm spreads via network shares.

If you require more indepth instructions I will answer once you
respond.

Windows 98
Not networked
I now have versions E & F

Please download Symantec's W32.Opaserv.Worm Removal Tool located at
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixOpsrv.exe

Save this file to your desktop and run it. Click start to begin. Once
it has finished reboot your computer and you should be clean of the
Opaserv worm.

Please make sure you update your E-Trust AV with the latest signiture
file and perform a full scan on your computer just to make sure you
are clean.
