I'm looking for a piano theory book written by Sanford Gold. Gold was
a jazz piano player and taught (jazz) musical theory. I understand he
died years ago. I would love to find a used book. Don't remember the
title. It's hard cover and spiral bound...I inderstand his wife lives
in FL and teaches jazz, also. Much thanx, Yeoldescribe

Hi yeoldescribe,

I have not been able to find this particular book. However, these two
dictionaries might be close:

Jazz Lexicon by Robert S. Gold
Jazz Talk by Robert S. Gold

They are both available from alibris, an online used/rare/out of print
bookstore. It's possible that Sanford was his middle name, which is
why I searched for "Gold" in the author field and "jazz" as a subject.
When I looked at the Library of Congress' online catalog
(http://catalog.loc.gov/) I found some audio recordings of Gold's
playing, but no books.

I couldn't find any title by Sanford Gold in any listing(s) of used
books any place I tried. However, I did find a reference to a person
who may be his widow, currently teaching jazz piano at the Miami-Dade
Community College http://www.mdcc.edu/north/a-l/mtd_pafacult.html#21
Perhaps you might call her and see if she has or is aware of any
copies of the book. Best of luck.
