I am going to use Roaming Profiles for the new computers in our
office. Is there a way I can reduce the size of the Profile, to make
it go faster.
Can I do things like:
- Not store any temp files or caches inside
- Make outlook redownload all the Exchange email (do I have to
configure outlook a special way)
- Any other way to let it rebuild stuff, or exclude stuff to make the
profiles smaller.
I am not real skilled in Roaming Profiles, so please include links to
any tutorials or step-by step directions that are part of your answer.
Also,
Should I just use OST files in Outlook (to sync with the exchange
server) and store the OSTs in the users personal share on the server.
Is there a big downside to running off of PST or OSTs that are
located on a server? Which is better PST, or OST?
Here are some details on the network.
The server is Windows 2000, and the workstations are XP.
I already have shares setup on the server where I want people to save
their files into. I have these mapped as the P drive. Also, I
mapped the My Documents folder to P:. |
